The mission of E&M Diverse Consultants is to deliver outstanding and purpose-driven services to Historically Marginalized People (HMP),LGBTQ+ communities and to every individual, organization, and company we engage with, ensuring that each entity is positively impacted by our connection, leaving them in an improved state compared to before our interaction.

The vision of E&M Diverse Consultants is a world where equality, diversity, and justice become the standard for individuals of all ages, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds, including the elderly and youth.

Our Founder | Melissa Funderburk

  • About Melissa

    Melissa Funderburk is the CEO and Founder of E&M Diverse Consultants LLC. Originally from a small town in South Carolina, Melissa's family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina when she was two years old. Raised in a single-parent household, Melissa encountered numerous life challenges and eventually became a part of the North Carolina foster care system. Despite her adversities, Melissa is a passionate advocate for justice, women's rights, and LGBTQI communities, driven by her personal experiences.

    Facing the need to drop out of school in the 7th grade, Melissa discovered hope and determination to pursue education once again. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, a Master's degree in Organizational Management, an MBA, and certifications in Comparative Equality and Anti-discrimination Law, among other academic accomplishments.

    Melissa believes in the transformative power of knowledge when shared to uplift others. In 2015, she founded E&M Professional Consultants, later rebranding the organization in 2022 to align more closely with contemporary issues and the needs of the community.

    Through her work, Melissa assists individuals in developing their organizations and businesses, engages in motivational speaking, conducts training on community organizing, and teaches Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) principles. Her ultimate objective is to inspire and empower individuals who may feel hopeless, leveraging her life experiences and educational background to guide them towards achieving their highest potential and success.
